Did Avery get her knack for "posing" by her sister Blain?

Downtown Wilmington, NC

Matt and Renee surviving the record temperatures. Cape Fear

Back at the beach. We stayed at the Shell Island Ocean Front Suites on Wrightsville Beach.

Wilmington, North Carolina

We meet up with Marty's brother Matt, his wife Renee' and baby Cassidy at this park in Wilmington. It was well over 100 degrees with high humidy. No matter how hot we were nobody was tempted to take a little dip in the lake? pond? swamp?
We had a wonderful dinner at Blue Water Grill in Wrightsville Beach.
Sweet baby Cassidy.

Cape Lookout Lighthouse North Carolina August 2007

The ferry we took was from Harkers Island to Cape Lookout lighthouse. The lighthouse is only assessible by boat.
The ferry captain even let Paxton be the captain of the boat for a little while

The start of our trip to Cape Lookout Lighthouse.

"They've always been there, they were here when our people came; they swam ashore off sinking ships" - the elders of coastal North Carolina

On an uninhabited barrier island, just off the coast of North Carolina, live wild horses. They are known of the wild horses on Shackelford Banks. Hardy and tough, they have survived where man could not. They have endured ... through hurricanes, droughts, north-easters, so'westers, and centuries. They remains self-sufficient on the island. They are assessed yearly by a vet, otherwise they are left alone and have survived for over 400 years.

Paxton's 9th Birthday

We celebrated Paxton's 9th in Morehead City, NC. We ate a delicious dinner at the famous "Sanitary Fist Market," we all loved the hushpuppies in North Carolina and we all agreed that the seafood on the east coast does not even compare to the wonderful seafood that we have here on the west coast.

Atlantic Beach, North Carolina

One the the Piers on Atlantic Beach where we stayed at the Sheraton. Atlantic Beach is on the southern tip of the Outer Banks. The beaches there are beautiful.
The kids played in the surf for hours.
