BJ Novak
Marty & I went to see one of our favorite actor/comedians in Seattle last night. BJ Novak, known as Ryan Howard in the show, The Office, was at the Moore Theater in Seattle. He is a funny guy and I really enjoyed the excerpt from his book "Wikipedia Brown" that he is working on." (I hope that it is actually a children's book and not just a part of one of his jokes.)

Homerun Baby!
Paxton hit the first homerun of his baseball career this week. He had an awesome line drive that went way past second base. He was so excited and had a huge smile across his face as he ran the bases. Great job Paxton, we are so proud of you!!!

Memorial Day Weekend 08
We had a great Memorial Day weekend! Our lovely friends, The Perkins, came up to visit. Shawn & Kim Perkins use to live here in Bremerton, but they moved down to Longview, WA about 5 years ago. We miss them so much, wish you were still here!
We enjoyed our visit with Shawn, Kim, Alexis and little baby Gracie Dawn Perkins. Thanks for coming up for the weekend!

Kicking It With The Hughes
Today was the nicest day of the summer and we were able to spend it with our good friends The Hughes. The weather was a warm 90 degrees, but at least we had a nice warm wind coming up off the Sound.
Enjoying a little time in the Kayak.

Leslie gave Paxton a quick lesson and he took to it like a pro.
Oh Mark, always the brave one... or the crazy one. I am not quite sure. He took the kids (Malia, Avery, Josh & Kaylie) on a little boat excursion.

Digging For Manila Clams
With the extra low tide this afternoon we were able to go to the beach in front of Leslie & Mark's house and dig for Manila clams. The clams were plentiful, just under the surface of the rocks. In a matter of minutes we had a bucket full of clams, just the right size for steaming. Paxton and Avery were a big help in finding clams, but Paxton needed a lot of reminders that we were looking for small clams.

Look at all of the live sand dollars. They were everywhere.
Here is a pic of Mark & Leslie's house from their beach. A Big Thanks to you guys for letting us from the Nez Perce tribe have access to your beach and exercise our tribal rights! : )

Kitsap Art School of the Arts
Avery was able to display a piece of her art work in the 10th annual art show for Kitsap Art. Her piece was an original watercolor that she named "Smiling Salmon." It was on display at the Kitsap Mall in Silverdale for a couple of weeks. We have ran into several friends recently who saw Avery's work and wanted to pay a compliment. Great job Avery!
